RAF Centenary – The official UK Silver LIGHTNING Proof £2 coin limited to 7,500
In 2018 to mark the centenary of the RAF, The Royal Mint has announced a series of brand new £2 coins, with the RAF’s greatest aircraft being immortalised – in this case, their newest plane, the Lightning II.
The coins did enter circulation, but The Royal Mint also announced the release of extra-special Silver Proof versions of the coin for serious collectors.
And it was given a strict edition limit of just 7,500 coins.
